Narangba – Custom Carport Shade Sail
Designed to Complement a Modern Home
The homeowners on Stone Ridge Boulevard, Narangba wanted more than just shade for their vehicles—they wanted a striking architectural feature that enhanced the appearance of their beautiful new home.
Their goal was to provide comfortable shade for two vehicles while maintaining the clean, modern lines of the property. Rather than installing a bulky carport or an oversized structure, we designed a custom high-tension carport shade sail that became an extension of the home's contemporary architecture.
The available driveway space presented an interesting design challenge. The driveway measured approximately 6.0 metres wide, with a depth of 4.5 metres on one side and 5.2 metres on the other, requiring a custom-shaped sail that would maximise coverage without overwhelming the front façade.
By carefully positioning the steel posts and selecting the correct high and low attachment points, we created an elegant architectural shade sail that provides excellent protection for two vehicles while preserving easy access to the garage and front entrance.
The finished installation delivers exactly what the homeowners envisioned—a practical carport shade sail that offers outstanding UV protection, complements the home's modern design and creates an impressive street presence that enhances the property's overall appeal.

Designed for Queensland Conditions
Built for Queensland Conditions
- Queensland experiences some of Australia's harshest weather, with intense UV exposure, heavy rainfall, summer storms and high temperatures.
- Every Sunshine Shade Sail is designed to withstand these conditions using premium Australian materials and proven installation methods.
- Our installations feature:
- * Rainbow Shades commercial-grade Australian shade fabric
- * Hot-dip galvanised structural steel
- * Marine-grade stainless steel hardware
- * High-tension engineering for long-term performance
- * Professional installation by experienced shade sail specialists
- Correct tensioning is one of the most important aspects of any shade sail installation. A properly tensioned sail helps prevent sagging, improves water runoff and reduces movement during strong winds, ensuring your investment continues to perform and look its best for many years.
Engineering the Right Solution
Every custom shade sail begins with careful planning. For this Narangba project, our goal was to provide maximum coverage for two vehicles while maintaining the home's modern architectural appearance.
Because the driveway was relatively compact, every post location and attachment point was carefully engineered to maximise the shaded area without obstructing vehicle access or overwhelming the front of the property.
The finished design achieves excellent fabric tension, efficient rainwater runoff and an elegant three-dimensional shape that complements the home's contemporary style while delivering outstanding protection from Queensland's harsh climate.
